Cookies and browser data policy

Draft · updated 25 October 2026 · English

1. Scope

This document describes the mechanisms in the current version of Dopamine Affiliates. Cookies and localStorage are not the same: cookies may be sent to the server, while localStorage is read by scripts in the browser. Hosting and sign-in may also use their own technical mechanisms.

2. Conversations and sessions

The affico_session cookie identifies the conversation session from a signed-out form. It is set for up to 30 days with HttpOnly, Secure and SameSite=Lax protections. The database stores a hash of the token. The affico-conversation localStorage key remembers the conversation identifier so that it can be resumed. Dashboard conversations are linked to the user’s account, not solely to this cookie.

3. Preferences and animation

The dopamine-language-v2 localStorage key, previously affico-language, remembers the selected language until the user or browser deletes the data. The dopamine_outline_v3 cookie records that the welcome animation has been viewed and expires within one year. Older versions may have stored dopamine_intro_seen or dopamine_outline_v2. These data do not, in themselves, serve advertising profiling. Before public launch, the operator must complete the assessment of which preference mechanisms require separate consent and implement appropriate consent controls.

4. Clicks and external websites

Dopamine records redirect counters against a personal link token and date. The token allows traffic to be attributed to a partner and may be passed to the affiliate as a subID. External websites may set their own cookies and carry out measurement under their own rules. This document does not replace their policies.

5. Analytics and providers

The current code does not configure separate Google Analytics or a Dopamine advertising pixel. This is not an assurance that the hosting infrastructure does not generate logs or technical data. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, causing the browser to connect to the provider’s servers. The current hosting provider and Cloudflare handle infrastructure and sign-in; the operator should verify their current mechanisms and information obligations. Before adding optional tools, this policy must be updated and any required consent mechanisms implemented.

6. Deleting or restricting data

Your browser settings allow you to delete cookies and website data, block selected mechanisms and reduce motion animations. Deleting data may sign you out, reset your language, restart the welcome animation and make it harder to resume anonymous chat. Deleting cookies alone does not delete your account or server-side data. Use account settings and data rights requests for that purpose.
